To hoist yourself onto the board, place your front hand on the mast foot and your back hand over the center of the board  (see top picture).
 

Pull yourself onto the center of the board.  Either kneel over the centerline back of the mast foot or sit onto the board while holding onto the mast. (see bottom picture).
 

Place your feet on the centerline of the board, look to the horizon, and stand up holding the uphaul.
